Haddy was founded on the principle that technology has the capacity to improve the longevity and quality of life on the planet. We consider this to be the intersection where design and nature both flourish and evolve, in balance with one another. Dedicated to achieving full circularity through its lineage model for additive manufacturing and using renewable and recycleable materials for all of our products, Haddy has built circularity into its foundation by upcycling products at end of use for the next generation of goods.

  • CEO & Co-Founder

    John “Jay” Rogers grew up a lover of woodworking, machines, and a student of industry; his grandfather owned the legendary Indian Motorcycle Company, founded concrete and steel giant Texas Industries, and was the first Cummins Engine Distributor in the United States. Jay’s grandfather is also credited with saving the Public Broadcasting System during the Nixon Administration and co-founding the Children’s Television Workshop, which is best known for Sesame Street. In embracing his family legacy of manufacturing and innovation, Jay has added his military leadership, entrepreneurship, and education, in order to hand-select a team of co-founders and set forth on a most ambitious plan: Creating, heroic, beautiful, durable furniture for retailers, to their design, built locally in the most resilient and sustainable manner.

    He graduated from Princeton University and went to a startup in China and then to Ewing & Partners where he became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). After that, he went on to the US Marine Corps where he served for 9 years in the infantry in the western Pacific and Iraq, to Harvard Business School and to become a consultant for McKinsey & Co. Most recently, he founded and led Local Motors, a next generation vehicle OEM. It was there that Jay first employed the basic technology of Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), and in 2021 he handed over the reins of Local Motors to a new investor group and left to start haddy full-time.

    The story of how communities of customers and suppliers can effectively participate in the innovation and creation of leading technology products is a journey Jay shares widely. He has spoken at BIF, PopTech, TedX, Picnic in Amsterdam, Do Conference in Wales, St Gallen Symposium, the White House conference on making, CES, CeBIT, IMTS, Singularity University, and many more conclaves. Additionally, the story of American innovation, co-creation and digital manufacturing has been shared on Discovery, PBS, Fox, CNBC, and Speed Channel. You can find Jay’s impact first in long-form narrative as part of many books, starting with MacroWikinomics written by Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams and more recently in America’s Moment: Creating Opportunity in the Connected Age by Rework America and Zoe Baird. His work has also been featured in Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Wired, Top Gear, AutoWeek, Inc., Details, Forbes, and others. In 2020, he was awarded the honor of leading Local Motors to one of the top 10 global innovative transportation companies by Popular Science.

    Jay is a director of the RBR Foundation, which gives annually to the cause of childhood education and development. He is the father of 4 boys who are growing up in a connected age and whom, he hopes, will take advantage of the incredible opportunity that the internet has given the world. He loves to learn languages, read widely, and to design and build projects of all kinds from leather to wood, and of course, 3D Printing.


  • CTO & Co-Founder

    Kyle Rowe, born in Colorado, grew up in Florida and Missouri. His love of all things mechanical and hand crafted came from his father; together they have spent many hours and late nights in their home shop building hot rods, welding, fabricating, and enjoying the subtle art of creating. Nuts, bolts, and the internal combustion engine led him down the path of engineering, research, and eventually entrepreneurship; the natural evolution of which inspired him to join forces to be a force for good and to make beautiful things.

    Kyle attended and graduated from the University of Florida (for the final time) in 2015 with his doctorate of philosophy in mechanical engineering, with a special focus in the field of tribology; the study of friction, wear, and lubrication. His research was varied, spanning everything from the friction and wear of elastomers to additive manufacturing with human cells. From academia he jumped the shark and went into industry, where he started down the slippery slope of manufacturing and entrepreneurship. He joined Local Motors to help found and develop their materials science and research division for automotive, large-scale, polymer, additive manufacturing. After developing, printing, and then unceremoniously breaking nearly every polymer compound and vehicle structure there was, he left to start an engineering consultancy and a large-scale, robotic, polymer, additive manufacturing OEM. It was during this time that Kyle discovered exactly how much it takes to start and grow a business, as well as how much fun robots are! As if it were preordained, Kyle and Jay teamed back up (with a number of other extraordinary co-founders) to start haddy and to build some of the most amazing products with one of the world’s most advanced manufacturing facilities.

    Scholar, author, and patent holder, Kyle has dedicated most of his life to the pursuit of discovery and investigation. He holds exactly zero world records and is nearly passible at most things.

    Kyle loves to build and fix at home, poorly cutting, welding, and CNC machining everything that the world never asked to be made. He is the father of two pretty awesome kids and is a supportive partner to an equally amazing woman. Together they enjoy all of the things: kayaking, scuba diving, cooking (EATING!), playing, hiking, and…… There is no debate that he isn’t willing to lose and he (along with anyone around him) is constantly surprised by how many terrible jokes he can make per unit time.


  • Senior Engineer

    Dylan grew up in a rural town in the hills of Appalachia. The culture of the area was not only one of self-sufficiency whenever possible, but also of always being willing to help each other. This attitude of self-sufficiency meant people repaired things whenever possible, which exposed Dylan to the complexities of mechanical systems from a young age and they have held his interest ever since. Dylan has pursued this interest throughout his life and has focused on large scale additive manufacturing for the past 5 years. This background and area of focus allows him to contribute to creating and improving the process of large scale additive manufacturing utilized to create haddy furniture.

    Dylan graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. His graduate research centered on the thermal expansion of large scale additively manufactured composites. Upon graduation Dylan worked for defense contractor Oshkosh Defense for a short while before finding a position at Local Motors. The position at Local Motors allowed Dylan to continue working with large scale additive manufacturing. This path of working with leaders in additive manufacturing led Dylan to transition to his new position at haddy. While working at haddy, Dylan is pursuing a Master’s in computer science from Georgia Tech.

    Dylan has had the opportunity to lead an Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) project for the Department of Energy, which involved multiple universities, businesses and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This work produced a thorough report on the current state of large scale additive manufacturing and its use in structural critical scenarios. He has been involved in several published works in the field of large scale additive manufacturing and he has presented his work at three conferences.

    Dylan enjoys spending his free time learning a new language, cooking up new recipes, playing a board game or diving into a good fantasy or mystery novel. He frequently spends weekends with his mother, disabled brother and extended family.


  • Logistics, Operations & Information Manager

    Numa was born and raised in France his entire childhood. Despite growing up in the Paris suburbs, Numa received, through multiple study-abroad experiences, a very international, and multicultural education from his parents with a very American emphasis on success, merit, and performance. This fueled his dream to pursue his secondary education and future career in the United States. As a kid, Numa had a sharp interest in numbers, logic, and problem-solving which led him to dream of an automotive engineering career. But, as he grew up, his affinity for business and its processes developed, and this led him to follow a career in supply chain and logistics where he has found joy associating numbers and logic with business. Sports have also been a significant part of Numa’s childhood and education. Despite trying most sports. he ended up focusing on Rugby which he played for 16 year.

    Numa graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2021 with a B.S. in Supply Chain and Information Systems with a minor in Spanish, and in 2022 with a Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance. Throughout college, he had the opportunity to work as Marketing Intern for Allianz where he worked on projects such as the Olympics and Formula E. He also interned at Asurion in Supply Chain Management where he helped remodel their repair process and where he and his team won a business case competition presented to multiple Executives. His education and experience led him to the position of Logistics, Operations, and Information manager at haddy where he is eager to grow as a professional while applying the learnings from his still young career.

    As mentioned, Rugby has been a major part of Numa’s life and he spent his 5 years at Penn State as a student-athlete at the D1 Varsity level, winning the conference once and playing in multiple National Championship Playoffs. Numa is also passionate about sports off-the-field and he had the opportunity to be a part of the Penn State Sports Business Club and was the first Alumni Relations Chair his senior year allowing him to connect and create a network with hundreds of Penn State Alumni working in Sports. Furthermore, Numa has long been passionate about volunteering and he had the opportunity to be a part of the operations crew for THON: the largest student-run philanthropy in the world which collects over 10 million dollars every year to enhance the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Finally, he’s a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society where the top 25% of Grad Students in the country are invited.

    Numa is a cinephile and loves to spend some time watching a good movie or show. His tastes are very eclectic and go from comedy to drama with a preference for thrillers and whodunnit movies. He also enjoys exploring food options around him and loves to try new cuisines (with a slight preference for French, obviously). He loves almost every sport and will spend his Sunday mornings watching Formula 1 and afternoons watching NFL Redzone.


  • Senior Designer

    Jon was born in the small town of New Smyrna Beach on the east coast of Florida. As a child he was intrigued and entertained by the natural world, the sea and the marshland behind his home and spent a great amount of time exploring and imagining living in harmony with nature. Jon’s Father, a successful Architect, instilled the value of creative thinking and quality of craft in him at an early age. Spending time in the architectural office, standing by while his father created drawings and met with clients. Quite often visiting sites where designs were being built and learning the trades required to build the organic style of architecture that his father specialized in. This influence and all the forms of expression through art and design that were introduced to him paved the way for Jon to pursue an education in the creative field of architecture and design.

    He graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelors in Industrial Design and a Minor in Architecture. Following graduation he became the Concept Designer for Four Winns Boats which established his passion for boat design. Over the following 13 years, he followed the passion and had the opportunity to join the design team for Lazzara Yachts and honed his design expertise in a wide variety of high quality products including yacht exteriors and custom furnishings. He followed this position as the Director of Design for Carbon Craft Yacht Tenders and was instrumental in the design and development of the brand as well as production and delivery. Eventually Jon opened his own design firm where he created designs for Bertram Yachts, Huckins Yachts and private clients in both yacht design and product development.

    Upon graduation Jon was invited to create a collection of Swarovski Crystal Chandeliers for the College’s Annual Gala and presented the Dean of Industrial Design with 30 one of a kind designs to be handcrafted from metal and crystals. Throughout his career he developed an intimate relationship with quality craftsmanship and design for production for a wide variety of materials including metal, wood, glass, composites, carbon fiber, foam, fabric and plastics. He is skilled in both the design and fabrication of high quality products with a great understanding of mechanical and handcrafted techniques for production. Additionally he is very passionate about our environmental impact as a species and is increasingly striving to create products that help to alleviate and reverse the negative impacts humans have on the environment.

    A lover of animals and nature, Jon is always carving out time to appreciate the simple joys in life. He spends a lot of his free time visiting local parks and beaches and exploring the natural world - always trying to catch the sunset. He is an avid reader and meditator and loves to have deep conversations about the possibilities of life and the wonders of the universe. A self-proclaimed foodie, Jon is always looking for a well crafted dining experience.
